When Patients Encounter Your Trial: Carebox Connect Network Intelligence

Written by Brian Weiss | February 02, 2026

At Carebox, we’re building the Carebox Connect Network (CCN)—an eligibility-based, condition-centric network designed to connect patients, advocacy organizations, and sponsors around a shared way of discovering and evaluating clinical trials that reflects how patients actually explore treatment options.

On CCN, patients discover trials through condition-centric, eligibility-based questionnaires that are evaluated across trials over time, and patients are given alternatives when a specific trial isn’t right for them. Insight emerges from patient interaction in ways that go beyond individual study recruitment funnel metrics.

Carebox Connect Network Intelligence (CCNI) offers a glimpse into that insight. After you enter the NCT ID of your trial, CCNI generates a report showing how patients interacted with your study across the Carebox Connect Network since January 1, 2024. For trials associated with more than one condition, all metrics beyond network presence are presented separately for each condition. The reported metrics include:

  • Network presence: where the trial appears across Carebox Connect Network partner experiences of 50+ advocacy groups
  • Eligibility-based matching activity: the number of patients who completed condition-based questionnaires and how many matched the trial eligibility criteria, representing patients who could potentially be referred if the trial were participating in the network
  • Eligibility friction patterns: aggregated insight into the eligibility criteria categories that most frequently contributed to non-matches
  • Competitive overlap: other actively recruiting trials that most frequently co-match with the requested trial

Carebox is making CCNI available now as an open window into the Carebox Connect Network. For a limited time, anyone can enter an NCT ID, along with their name and email address, to receive a CCNI report via email for that trial.

CCNI reports are currently available to anyone for any trial, at no charge. They reflect a subset of the broader analytics and reporting capabilities available to Carebox Connect Network Trial Subscription partners.

What excites us about CCNI isn’t only the report itself, although we think it’s quite cool and presents insights not otherwise available to trial sponsors. But more exciting is it demonstrates how insight begins to compound when patients, advocacy organizations, and sponsors participate in a shared, eligibility-based network rather than operating in isolated, study-by-study silos.

A Carebox Connect Network Trial Subscription allows an individual study to participate more actively in, and derive greater benefit from, the Carebox Connect Network, which supports broad trial visibility and eligibility-based interaction for all trials. A Trial Subscription builds on the CCN baseline by designating a study as an actively participating trial—enabling deeper trial curation and verification, customized trial pages, next-step referral pathways, and ongoing registry-based engagement workflows. The status of subscribed trials that have this additional verification and next-step pathways is reflected in a differentiated patient experience.

In addition, Trial Subscriptions include coordinated marketing and outreach designed to drive patient traffic to the trial’s network presence. They also enable additional opportunities for subscribed trials to leverage relevant advocacy group communities within the Carebox Connect Network, to reach their patient members.

If you’re interested in learning more about the Carebox Connect Network, or in exploring whether the Trial Subscription offering makes sense for a specific study, we’d welcome the conversation.
